Over the past few days we’ve been talking about the value in teaching classic hymns to our children. Sometimes I can be a perfectionist. It can be hard for me to start something new because I want to do it “right”… that’s fancy-speak for “I want to do it perfectly.” Sometimes my desire to be perfect can be paralyzing!
So today I want to encourage you to just get started!
Don’t get caught up in trying to find “the best” hymn… Yes, there are so many to choose from, but the fact is, they’re all great! you might (like me!) be surprised that your child’s favorite hymn turns out to be something completely unexpected! I thought it would be fun to list some of our children’s favorite hymns. FarmGirl and FarmBoy have each listed their 5 favorite hymns for you! If you click on the title you will be taken to a site where the sheet music can be printed free of charge. (These hymns are all in the public domain now.) Perhaps there is something in this list that your family will enjoy, too!
