I am not a morning person. If you come to my house at 6 o’clock in the morning please expect to make your own breakfast because I am not at my finest at that hour. Even after all these years of eating a whole foods diet, first thing in the morning I really just want to reach for a box, pour it into everyone’s bowl and be done. Please don’t make me cook before the sun is up.
But when you are the mother you’ve got to make sure everyone eats… even if it IS the crack of dawn. And if you’re dealing with food allergies breakfast is not likely to be a pour-and-eat affair. So I learned how to make granola! Do you hear the angels singing the Hallelujah chorus in my kitchen? I created a method of making granola that is NOT MESSY, it’s NOT FUSSY (like most granola recipes are), it’s EASY, it’s FRUGAL and it’s good for you! Best of all it can be done way ahead of time! So now I can just reach and pour and know that I am serving my family homemade goodness for breakfast.
And Now I’m Going To Teach You To Do It, Too!
My newest ebook is called The Granola Book and it’s for the Granola Girl or Guy who lives in all of us! When I was brainstorming a name for this book…. (Why yes, I did come up with that ever-so-clever name after MUCH brainstorming!) Anyway, when I was brainstorming a name for this book, my neighbor JimJake suggested I call it “Sore Jaws and Loose Bowels.” Somehow Granola has gotten a bad reputation! If you think you don’t like granola, I think I can change your opinion and help you find the granola-lover inside of you. If you already like granola, well then you’re really in for a treat!
I created 12 granola recipes. There is one themed recipe for each month of the year. By the time I was finished all 12 batches, my kitchen looked like this:
12 Delicious Granola Recipes
Somewhere on that table you will find these recipes:
January – Seed & Nut Granola
February- Cherry Almond Granola
March – Maple Nut Granola
April – Carob Peanut Butter Granola
May – Fruit & Almond Granola
June – Pina Colada Granola
July – Blueberry Granola
August – Carob Nut Granola
September – Harvest Crunch Granola
October – Carrot Cake Granola
November – Pumpkin Pie Granola
December – Cranberry Orange Granola
Up to this point, I had 12 incredible recipes, more granola than the average family eats in a year and a huge mess to clean up. The lovely and talented Camary Miller from Camary Miller Photography came to my house and created beautiful granola masterpieces! I cannot thank her enough! This ebook is as much due to her efforts as mine. Her pictures grace the pages of this ebook and there are full colored pictures on every page.
This is the most breathtaking food photography I have seen in a long time! You are going to love it! Here’s a peek at what you’ll find in the pages of The Granola Book
